Passed away peacefully, at the Friendly Manor Nursing Home in Deseronto on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Born on March 6, 1918 at home on the farm outside of Seaforth, ON. Beloved wife of the late Leland Wannamaker, married on August 23, 1944. Dear mother of Larry (Marion) of Napanee; Brian of Bolton and Gail Shelton (Tom Warnoch) of Stratford. Grandmother of Ritchie (Erin Wilson) of Napanee; Pamela Wannamaker of Deseronto; Robert Wannamaker (Nicole) of Fernie, BC; Kevin Wannamaker of Napanee; Sophie Nesfield (Dima); Guy Nesfield (Rumaana) of England and Leo Wannamaker (Natalie) of Germany. Great-grandmother of Christopher (Tara); Rya (Brandon); Carissa (Aaron) Wannamaker; Tyler (Erica) and Hunter Carey; Kaida; Aurora and Summit Wannamaker; and Lucas Cummings-Wannamaker. Fondly remembered by Judy Nesfield. Jessie was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Mabel, and all of her siblings and their spouses. She has many caring nieces and nephews and their families. A long-time teacher and supply teacher. She was the first supply teacher in Lennox County. Honourary Life Member of Trinity United Church Women, Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario (Maple Leaf Lennox Branch) and first woman clerk of Session, Trinity U.C. of Napanee. The family will receive friends at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME, in Napanee at 123 Dundas Street West (613-354-3341) on Tuesday, May 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m. Service follows in the Chapel on Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations (by cheque please) made to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation, Trinity United Church or the Friendly Manor Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
