Our Services
THE IMPORTANCE OF
A FUNERAL SERVICE
Whether
you chose burial or cremation, a service should be included in your
arrangements. A funeral service
fills several important needs in today’s society. First of all, it provides
for the dignified and respectful care of the deceased.
It's
a special tribute to a unique life. Equally important, the funeral service helps
survivors face the reality of death – the first big step toward overcoming
grief. Together, close friends and relatives can lend support and consolation
when they're needed most.
A funeral gives friends and relatives
an opportunity to express the love and respect they feel for someone who was
important to them. Many times, just seeing how much others cared can be a
tremendous help to a family in adjusting to their loss.
We will work to accommodate any
special requests that might add more meaning or personalization to a funeral
service.
MAKING
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
Pre-planning your funeral service with your family is best. It is the only way you will be able to carry out each
other’s wishes when the time comes. When a death
occurs, inform other family members as soon as possible.
Then, contact the Funeral Home, even if it is after hours. We are
available 24 hours a day. We will arrange for the transfer of your loved
one to the Funeral Home, explain the embalming and funeral preparation
process, and set up a time to arrange the funeral. For the arrangement,
you will be asked to provide clothing, pictures, and information for the
death registration and newspaper notices, such as full name, date of
birth, address and social insurance number, occupation, parents’ names,
date and place of the funeral and whether they are to be buried or
cremated. We will assist you in your selection of casket, burial
container or urn, cemetery, memorial cards, music, flowers, photos,
memorial donations, pallbearers, transportation, special requests and costs. We also would be happy to apply for your
Canada Pension Plan death and survivor benefits, certify the documents submitted and also prepare and
place an obituary, with or without a picture of the deceased, in
newspapers of your choice.
A funeral is a very detailed process that requires the
understanding and expertise of a funeral director to make the process a
meaningful and memorable tribute to a life well-lived. Each service is unique,
not routine. We approach each funeral this way.
