Kevin and family, I am so very sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a tremendous friend to his neighbour Ed Weir, my dad. Dad's later years were enhanced by George's companionship, they shared stories, meals and a few drinks now and again. My sister and I enjoyed hearing about George and seeing him from time to time. He was always interested and kind. Very sorry for your loss.

I am sorry, it saddens me to learn of George's passing. George was a great friend to my dad Ed Weir who lived across the street. I have wonderful memories of the boys Dad, George and Chris making a road trip to Fergus to visit us. They had such a great time together. George always made me laugh and put a smile on my face. I am grateful for the friendship that they shared and he will be missed. My thoughts are with you and your families at this time.

As Marybelle's younger brother , I remember in the 60's , word was out that my sister was bringing a new boy home. She did that , one summer Sunday afternoon when we were milking the cows . He walked in the stable and said : "Shut her down , she ain't payin" . George gave us young teens a glimpse of different life styles . I guess he gave Marybelle what she wanted too . They were a cute pair together until cancer ended the fun with my sister in 2011 . All of us will think of George from time to time , and the thoughts will be good.

Kevin and Cathy: I'm so sorry about your dad's passing. As you know, in many ways, he was more of a father to me than my own. Your parents have been very good to me and I loved them both. I will always be grateful to have had them in my life. I'm very happy that I got to spend the day with George on Saturday and had the opportunity to say good bye. As sad as it is to lose him, I'm relieved that his suffering has come to an end. I would like to think that he is finally reunited with his beloved Mary Belle and that thought makes me smile, as we all know how terribly he missed her. I will miss him very much and think of him often. My memories of him are extremely special to me. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
Love,
Christine

My condolences on your loss, Cathy, Kevin and your families. We Richmonds spent a lot of time on your parents' farm as you well know. It was George who taught me how to milk a cow. I remember gathering eggs in the henhouse and taking them in to Mary Belle, who would whip up a huge breakfast for everyone. They were great people and I'm sure you have many happy memories to see you through this difficult time.
