Gwen lived her entire life in the Hay Bay area, working beside her husband on their dairy farm. She was an active member of the community, playing piano and singing in church, teaching Sunday school, volunteering at various events with the Hawley Women’s Institute, and leading 4-H clubs. Many will remember her as the choir director for the “Hawley Hayseeds”. Gwen was a wonderful gardener, and she loved to sew and quilt. In her later years, she became a tole painter, creating works of art which will be cherished. Gwen loved having a house full of people to feed. Heaven will be a little more crowded because of the positive Christian legacy she created. Funeral services were held at the Hannah Funeral Home in Napanee on Saturday, November 16, 2019 with interment at the Riverside Cemetery, Napanee. Memorial donations (by cheque please) made to Cornerstone Christian Academy or Standard Wesleyan Church would be appreciated by the family.
