Gwendelyn (Gwen) Alberta King (formerly Cardwell) nee Jones 

January 12, 1935- August 3, 2023

88 years old 

Passed away peacefully at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in Napanee on August 3, 2023. Predeceased by her sisters Jacqueline and Brenda. Gwen leaves behind her husband William (Bill), sister Caroldean (Gordon), son Nicholas (Susan), and step daughters Grace (Chris), Karen Sauve (Wayne) and Dianne King. Loving Aunt to Dawn, Wayne (Jennifer), Gregory (Susan), Bernie (Ana), Yvonne (Don), Chris (Diane), Theresa (Dan), Tim (Sheri) and predeceased by Paul (Sheila).   Devoted Granny to Elizabeth, Cameron, Mackenzie, Katherine, Christopher, Morley, Jacqueline, Emily, Jennifer (deceased) and Rochele.  Beloved Great-gran (GG) to Nathaniel, Zackary, Markus, Jacqueline, Christopher, Jordan and Kepler. Gwen will also be fondly remembered by many life long friends and extended family. A lover of children, Gwen gave many years of service to the elementary school system in Richmond Hill and created many lasting memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Friendly Manor nursing home in Deseronto as well as the staff at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital for the exceptional care provided to Gwen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the palliative care unit at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital. Plans for a celebration of life to be announced at a future date.
