Passed away peacefully, with his son Tony by his side at Trillium Ridge Nursing Home in Kingston, ON on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Husband of the late Barbara (nee Harrison). Roger was the son of the late Sampson and Mary Szapira. Dear father of Tony (Darlene); Andra Levack (Harold); Susan Davis (Keith); Richard Webb (Madeleine) and the late Thomas Szapira. Cherished grandfather of Thomas and Tyler (Tabytha) and great-grandfather of Bryce and Claire. Loving brother of Anna Rasmussen (Bruce). Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and extended family in England. Roger lived a rich and fulfilling life of military service in many parts of the world and then a happy retirement in Tamworth with his loving family and countless friends and colleagues. Roger enjoyed gardening, stamp collecting, helping others, and had many four legged friends with him always. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at Adolphustown United Church Cemetery. A public celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at a later date, to be announced. Memorial donations made to the Royal Canadian Legion #458 Tamworth or the Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington Branch would be appreciated by the family.
